Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Feel free! She's also a psychic, and has been trained to protect against tampering, but a particularly sneaky or strong psychic will be more than capable of reading her mind. That said, it's important to note they might have to get through nightmare content at some point in time, as that is a part of her defenses.
Warnings: Commodification and systematic abuse and emotional neglect are a pretty big part of nightfall. Furthermore, her powers are nightmare based, and might have some pretty serious subjects involved (though generally it's either based on the other character's nightmares, or on a more general set of subjects like monsters or the dark or fear of death - that sort of thing).

Opt In/Out
Nightfall is a psychic with powers that revolve around the unconscious mind. Her powers come in mostly two flavours: Causing nightmares and rendering people unconscious.
Causing nightmares: If she is within a decent radius of a person who is unconscious she can induce nightmares in them. This ability is usually an aura, meaning anyone sleeping who happens to be in the area of effect will be affected, but if she focuses she can limit the targets. The nightmares in question usually draw either from the pre-existing nightmares of the affected individual, or on a more general grouping of fears common to the world at large - think primal fears like the dark or being chased. It is worth noting that if she is conscious, she is able to effect the severity of the nightmares.
Her nightmare aura is capable of acting on its own while she is unconscious. If she has fallen asleep on her own, the nightmare aura is contained and people could theoretically sleep beside her (no one has tried, because she does not surround herself with stupid people). However, if she is suddenly rendered unconscious (for example, by a blow to the head or tranquilizers) she does not have this control, as she would be incapable of either meditation or lucid dreaming in these states, one of the two being vital to her unconscious control.
Nightfall is capable of entering nightmares at will. She technically does this physically, and will reappear in the physical world either upon leaving the nightmare intentionally or being kicked out (usually done by waking up).
Inducing unconsciousness: This one is simple. Nightfall is capable of rendering unconscious anyone she makes reasonably unfiltered eye contact with. This ability is controlled by intent, and she is required to be of a sound mind in order to focus enough to cause this effect.
While this ability will work through things such as glasses, safety goggles, and similar things, it will not work through dark tinted sunglasses or through video. Both parties need to be able to see each others eyes. The number of eyes do not matter, so long as the eyes involved are capable of sight.
Both abilities: Nightfall's psychic abilities do not affect robots, or individuals who have had enough cybernetic modifications. Furthermore, there are just some neurotypes that are difficult, if not impossible to affect with her powers. Sometimes brain chemistry can cause interference as well. Psychics can either have a high resistance to her powers, or a serious weakness to them - it's up to the player.
Aliens who don't have cybernetic minds are capable of being affected. This is on a case by case basis.
If you don't want her powers to affect your character, there are a myriad of options available, and I am SO open to hearing about what you have in mind should you like to explore them! (And naturally 'I just don't want this to happen to my character' is perfectly valid.)

If you don't want to opt out of Nightfall's nightmare power, is there anything you'd like to explore via the nightmares?: Ronan's nightmares have been exhaustively explored, but if anything ever comes up, sure.
Does your character have any psychic or sleep-related powers?: Yes. Which will likely affect her own ability to induce nightmares in him, as Ronan himself is a dreamer (which gives him the ability to alter dreamspace to suit his needs) and a dream (which can have varying consequences, depending on the circumstance). Inducing unconsciousness in him will be very easy, but once he's there, she might find he can dismiss any nightmare she throws at him. Psychics are capable of recognizing Ronan's nature, so feel free to let Nightfall notice he's not human, that he's made of dreamstuff, and that he's in fact overflowing with dreamstuff. One psychic notes that he seems like he's super pregnant. He also creeps them out, because apparently some people think dreams shouldn't just be walking around like this, and there's a prophecy that he will end the world someday by breaking reality? He projects this aura very loudly. It's not hard to pick up.
